Chunn photoKelley Chunn is the principal of Kelley Chunn & Associates (KCA), an award winning

25 year old state certified, collaborative consultancy based in Boston. Born in Miami Florida and raised in Boston’s Southend, Back Bay, and Jamaica Plain area.  Kelley is curious and have a commitment to promoting positive social change through the power of communications. KCA specializes in multicultural and cause-related public relations and marketing: strategic communications, research, branding, community/corporate outreach, civic engagement,  media relations, event planning and management and training.  A thought leader, Chunn is also a speaker. A former broadcast journalist, Chunn graduated from New York University and the Simmons College School of Communications Management. Her journey has taken her from Boston to New York, to Nigeria and the White House. There she joined other community and business leaders to advise former President Barack Obama on small business and economic development.

Among her projects: The formation of the Roxbury Cultural District, Supplier Diversity for the Greater New England Minority Supplier Development Council, Affordable Homeownership for MassHousing,  Bullying Prevention and Tobacco Education for the Massachusetts Department of  Public Health, Obesity Prevention for the National Institutes of Health,  The United Way Campaign for Gillette and the historic visit of the Amistad Freedom vessel to Boston. Some of the organizations Kelley’s involved with are: Public Relations Society of America, Boston Chapter, Board Member; Beth Israel Board of Overseers; Metropolitan Area Planning Council; Roxbury Cultural District, Acting President.

In addition, Chunn has served as an Assistant Professor of public relations and marketing at Northeastern University and as adjunct or lecturer in several other local colleges and universities.  In 1982, Chunn served as media consultant to the Nigerian government’s National Television Authority in West Africa. Kelley Chunn has also been recognized for her outstanding service in the community with awards like:  Ad Club Rosoff 20/20 Award; Simmons College Alumnae Achievement Award; Boston Women Communicators Legacy Award; Eastern Star Award “Women Making a Difference in the Community”

Her community and professional affiliations include: the Metropolitan Area Planning Council, The Board of Overseers for Beth Israel Deaconess, Advisory Committee for Fisher College, Office of Supplier Diversity Advisory Board for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, The Board of the Boston Public Relations Society of America, Boston Women Communicators, The National Association of Black Journalists, The Museum of African-American History, the Greater New England  Minority Supplier Development Council and The Boston Chamber of Commerce

Chunn earned a B.A. Degree in Journalism from New York University and a Master of Science Degree in Communications Management at Simmons College. Chunn also had great Journalism mentors that helped craft her profession like Sarah Ann Shaw, TV news reporter and pioneer, Vickie Jones, producer at Channel 7, and Pamela Scott, management  consultant,

Well, at the end of the day this busy “Diva Professional” likes to curl up with a good book Being Mortal by Atul Gawande or listening to some of her favorite music artist, John ColtraneSolange, or Andra Day  at home in her Highland Park neighborhood of Roxbury in Boston, Massachusetts.
