Meet Kaye Long
Well Diva Empowered Magazine We made it to 2021! We’ve had a hard past 4 years, that we
endured. From a Global pandemic that we continue to go through, to a tumultuous eye-opening
racial brutality against black and brown American people (as if we weren’t human) to massive
protest demonstrating our rights to speak the truth. But at last, we have a new President, Joseph
Biden was sworn in as the 46th President of the United States of America and we witnessed with
pride Kamala Harris taking the oath as the first Black, Asian and woman, to hold the office of Vice
President of the leading nation in the free world.
The Inaugurations allow for citizens to reflect and renew our faith while understanding that even
after the darkest days, there will be a light showing a pathway to a bright future if we find a way to
work collaboratively to make it a reality. The poise of the National Youth Poet Laureate Amanda
Gorman and hearing her poem gives us new reasons to deeply believe that everyone, regardless of
race or socio-economic background can achieve unprecedented levels of success when given the
opportunities for exposure. Now more than ever I feel that we have a chance to “build back better”
(Joe Biden) and to build better opportunities for ourselves and families. I can’t wait to see what 2021
has instore for us, and the promise for a beautiful future!
All the best
